Care and Maintenance Guidelines for Bespoke Shaped Mattresses

Thank you for selecting Caravan Beds Limited for your bespoke mattress needs. To ensure the longevity, hygiene, and continued comfort of your custom-made mattress, we kindly request that you follow the care and maintenance recommendations outlined below.

1. General Care

• Mattress Protector:
We strongly recommend the use of a high-quality, breathable, and waterproof mattress protector. This will help safeguard your mattress from moisture, stains, and general wear. Caravan Beds Limited produces quality bedding please visit www.caravanbeds.co.uk for more information

• Cleaning Instructions:
o Regularly vacuum the surface of the mattress using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
o In the event of a spill or stain, gently spot clean with a mild detergent and cold water. Avoid over-saturating the fabric and ensure it is thoroughly dried before use.

• Ventilation:
Remove bedding periodically and allow the mattress to air out. This practice reduces moisture build-up and helps prevent mould and mildew, particularly in confined or humid environments.

2. Rotation and Flipping (if possible due to shape/size)

• Rotation:
Rotate the mattress from head to foot every 4–8 weeks to promote even wear and prevent body impressions.

• Flipping:
If your mattress is double-sided, it should be flipped every 3–6 months in addition to rotation.
If your mattress is single-sided, it should not be flipped. Rotation alone is sufficient.

3. Environmental Conditions

• Ventilation and Base Support:
Always ensure the mattress is placed on a ventilated, supportive base such as a slatted frame. Avoid using solid or non-breathable surfaces which can contribute to condensation and mould.

• Climate Control:
In caravans, boats, and other enclosed environments, ensure adequate airflow and temperature control. Prolonged exposure to damp conditions may compromise the integrity of the mattress materials.

4. Storage and Transport

• Storage:
If the mattress is not in use for an extended period (e.g., during off-season caravan storage), it should be removed or elevated to prevent direct contact with cold or damp surfaces.

• Transport:
When transporting or relocating your mattress, avoid folding it unless specifically designed to do so. Rolling may be permitted depending on the model specifications. Always check with our team before compressing or bending your mattress.

5. Warranty Protection

To maintain warranty coverage, please adhere to the following:

• Do not subject the mattress to excessive or uneven pressure (e.g., jumping or standing on it).

• Do not remove manufacturer tags or labels, as these are required for any warranty-related claims.

• Use the mattress in accordance with its intended purpose and environment. Improper use or storage conditions may void warranty coverage.
